SHORTEST SNAPPER SEASON EVER 2011 THANKS NOAA
Report Date: May 2, 2011
Hey Guys and gals
Sorry for not righting my reports lately but we have really taken a beating lately. last year with the oil spill scaring away business after June we didn’t book another trip the rest of the year. And now we are facing the SHORTEST SNAPPER SEASON EVER the season will open JUNE 1ST and will close JULY 18TH the reason that NOAA gave us is that the quota is based on poundage. The fish are bigger and there are more of them now so we catch the quota quicker. SO WHAT THEY ARE SAYING IS WHEN THE FISH GET REALY BIG AND ARE DOING REALLY GOOD WE CANT CATCH THEM BUT WHEN THEY ARE DOING BAD AND ARE REAL SMALL WE CAN CATCH AS MANY AS WE WANT THAT’S GOVERNMENT AT WORK. We need to remove the stupid and fix the problem or a lot of good Americans will be forced out of work. So please book a trip we need all the help we can get and you get a great fishing trip in return and remember if you want to catch red snapper this year you have 47 days to do it so book your trip now or you will miss the boat. The fishing has been great lately Inshore the trout has been great lots of fish and the big ones are just starting to bite it should be good for the next 2 or 3 weeks. Red fish are on the Jetty and the pompano are showing up on the beaches the water has been to ruff to fish for them from a boat but the shore guys and gals have been getting some good quality fish, So get some sand fleas and catch them up. The Spanish fishing has slowed a bit but the middle grounds and magnolia beach still hold some good fish with some hard fighting blue fish mixed in. The hard tails have moved in to I cant wait to take a few of those offshore for bait. And speaking of offshore we have been getting some cobia on the near shore wrecks and on the fish fads lately.

The kings are thick this year not a lot of big ones yet but the numbers make up for it here is one that didn't make it past the grill.

Amber jacks are just starting to hit the top water baits. And the snapper are on every wreck and reef (big ones)
